The HG23 (formerly 23-23) surface* at the top (and shown in the video above) provides 230% more reflectivity than matte white while while effectively absorbing ambient light. It's ideal for low-brightness home theater projectors, active shutter 3D applications, or for situations with strong side light from windows or lamps.
The 08-85 surface has a gain of 0.8, 20% less bright than matte white, but it has 70% more contrast than matte white, providing richer, deeper blacks and shadow detail even in high ambient light situations. It has an 85-degree half-gain angle, yielding practically a 180-degree viewing cone with no loss in brightness or color fidelity.
For the Supernova STS screen, a special Fresnel lens array surface is utilized to direct light from short-throw projectors to the audience. Its characteristics are different from 08-85 and HG23, but it's just as effective.
All of Supernova's screen surfaces are ideal for 4K projection and active shutter 3D too!
